It is important to note that an international driving licence is not a standalone document and must be used in conjunction with the driver’s original licence. You are only allowed to drive in the UK for 1 year from date of entry with your international driving license. How to Apply for UK Provisional driving license?

The international driving licence is issued by the individual’s home country which is valid for 1 year. So, you will have to apply for a provisional driving licence during or after expiry of 1 year or if you want to get UK driving license earlier than 1 year, please follow below link to do that:
